is a university graduate mechanical engineer, doctor of technical sciences. Research and professional fields: heat and mass transfer in buildings and devices in the building, solar energy, energy planning, environmental technology, energy policy, protection and improvement of the human environment, coordinated economic and social development. Retired full professor of: heating, cooling and air conditioning; renewable energy sources and environmental protection, construction installations. Founder of the Environmental Awards in Slovenia, within the “Gospodarski vestnik”.

He was a member of the Scientific Council of the European Environment Agency for eight years, and for the last four years also its Vice-President
(until 2016). He is a member of the Steering Committee for EBAE Environmental Awards in Brussels, procurator of the consulting company ENERGOTECH, research associate at the MIK Celje Institute and professor at the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering in Novo mesto, professor emeritus of the University of Novo mesto, honorary member of ASHRAE refrigeration -IIR, European Heating and Refrigeration Organization - REHVA, winner of the REHVA Gold Medal, 2010, as the highest European recognition for life's work in the profession.

He is also an honorary member of other domestic organizations such as ZITS, SLOSE, SITHOK. Journalistic activity: over 350 published works and papers at congresses, 25 projects, 28 constructions, 91 research reports, 18 doctorates, 27 master's degrees, over 100 professional diplomas, 345 university diplomas. He designed the sustainable exercise system STRES, based on the circulation of carbon from the atmosphere through biomass, and successfully presented it at numerous world congresses (Vancouver, New Delhi, Berlin, Rome, Paris) and publications (Energy and Buildings, etc.). The system is becoming universally accepted in scientific and professional circles around the world and represents one of the possible solutions for the energy independence of cities and countries in the world, based on renewable energy sources.
